Indore MP monitors missing couple case

Funeral of Raja Raghuvanshi held

Shillong, June 4: Indore MP Shankar Lalwani is monitoring the violent incident that has affected the Indore couple and their families.

Speaking on phone, Lalwani said the funeral of late Raja Raghuvanshi was held in Indore on Wednesday.

He said though the relatives are yet to get the postmortem report, initial analysis points to murder.

“We are also eager to know the whereabouts of Raja’s wife Sonam”, he added.

Raincoat recovered 

Earlier in the day, the search party recovered a raincoat from AD view point in Mawkma area of Sohra around 7 km away from Weisawdong falls.

“There are some stains on the raincoat, we can’t say whose it is”, East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters that the government will ensure that those behind the murder of Indore resident will be brought to book.

His body was recovered from a gorge at Weisawdong falls, after he and his wife Sonam went missing while on a honeymoon to Sohra on May 23.

Terming the incident as very unfortunate, Conrad described it as something which nobody has seen in Meghalaya.

The chief minister assured the family members of the Indore couple that the government will work as fast as possible to find the wife of the deceased victim, who is still missing.
