Shillong, Sept 5: The health department has fixed September 12 for the interview of Mid Level Health Providers (MLHP) in Tura.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Helath Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said though only NEIGRIHMS and Woodland Hospital carry out selection of candidates, the government has decided to have the interview on September 12 for the qualified candidates.
The earlier advertisement in this regard has been extended.
The decision was taken after the NGOs from Garo Hills met the health minister.
According to Ampareen, the earlier results declared will be put on hold.
On the demand of the pressure groups from Garo Hills to have a senior health officer in Tura, especially an additional director of health services, Ampareen said she will make a proposal to the chief minister in this regard.
Regarding the third issue raised by the groups, Ampareen said it was regarding the discrepancy in the applications of MBBS candidates of unreserved category from Garo Hills.
“I have requested the pressure groups to forward letters like it was communicated to KSU, and JSU so that we can take necessary decisions”, Ampareen said.
