Jemino silent on joining other parties

Resignation was on May 20

Shillong, May 31: UDP leader Jemino Mawthoh is yet to respond to a query on which political party he would join after he left the party.

A message was sent in this regard, but he has not responded.

Though the news was reported on Saturday, the resignation letter was dated May 20.

According to the resignation letter, due to  unavoidable circumstances, he decided to quit the party.  He also said the decision is purely personal and he holds his ground on this matter.

Sub: Resignation from United Democratic Party (UDP)

Sir,

With reference to the subject cited above, I would like to inform you that due to unavoidable circumstances, I hereby tender my resignation as member of the Party and also relinquish my present post as General Secretary with immediate effect. I am privileged to serve the party as a Legislator, Working President from 2014 and as General Secretary from 2016 till date. I want to express my sincere thanks for the opportunities that the Party has given me all these years to serve the people of my Constituency and the State. I acknowledge the support of my fellow co-workers during my tenure in various capacities in the party. This decision is purely personal and I strongly hold my ground on this matter.

For your information, I am also tendering my resignation as Honorary Adviser, Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department, Government of Meghalaya.

My best wishes to the Party in all its future endeavours.
