Shillong, Oct 19: The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC) Khliehriat Circle has written to the deputy commissioner of East Jaintia Hills about the dilapidated NH6.
JNC said the poor road condition is affecting daily life and local trade. To add to the woes, the dusty road is making people sick. “Cold, cough and sinus are common ailments among people here. The problem will aggravate in winter,” JNC added.

The council urged DC Shivansh Awasthi to take measures to reconstruct the road. The DC assured JNC that he would take up the matter with the government.
