K7 Kabaddi tournament to be played from Jul 22 to Aug 8

Gurugram, Jul 22 (UNI) The K7 Kabaddi Stage Up tournament will be played from July 22 to August 8 at Future Fighters Kabaddi Academy, here.

The first match will be played between Chajju Ram Kabaddi Academy & Bhaini School mentored by legendary players Ram Mehr Singh & Naveen Kumar Goyat.

The 17-day tournament, will have 59 high quality matches with more than 140 skilled and talented young players and coaches from across Haryana.

The tournament will feature 10 teams, which will include 8 teams who made it through the K7 Qualifiers that took place earlier this year in March with addition of 2 wild card entries. Each participating academy team will come in with a squad of 12 players and 2 officials.

The tournament will sport a prize pool of Rs 11.2 Lakh, with the winning team taking home a share of INR 2 lakh.

Other categories of prizes include the ‘Super 6’ – top 6 players of the tournament, Best Raider, Defender and more. The 6 top teams from the tournament will move on to the K7 Finals which is scheduled to take place at the end of this year.

The Kabaddi Academy is run by former captain of the Indian men’s Kabaddi team and one of the most influential players in the sport, Anup Kumar.

There will be noted and renowned players and coaches from kabaddi fraternity including Dronacharya Awardee Rambir Singh Khokhar, Arjuna Awardees like Rakesh Kumar, Jasvir Singh, Deepak Niwas Hooda, Sandeep Narwal, Surinder Nada will be present and supporting their teams.

The tournament will be exclusively broadcast on FanCode, (Dream Sports which includes Dream 11), reaching out to more than 20 million users.

All matches are being played maintaining SOPs laid by the local authorities.

Ten teams are divided in two pools:

Pool A – Khokhar Kabaddi Academy , Bhaini School, NK Kabaddi Academy, Parveen & Jasvir Panipat Kabaddi Academy, Chhaju Ram Kabaddi Academy

Pool B : Warriors Arena Kabaddi Academy, Narwal Golden Club, Narwal Kabaddi & Sports Academy, Deepak Niwas Hooda Foundation , Amit Ashok Academy
