Kala Dharohar to give insights into Indian performing arts
Monica Chanda to conduct workshop on Meera bhajans
Shillong, Oct 2: The Sangeet Natak Akademi has launched the ‘Kala Dharohar’ series, an initiative aimed at enhancing students’ knowledge of Indian performing arts and supporting the National Education Policy (NEP).
As part of this initiative, various activities such as lectures, demonstrations, workshops and performances are being organised to raise awareness and bring students closer to Indian arts.
Under the ‘Kala Dharohar’ series, award-winning artists, renowned gurus and scholars associated with the Sangeet Natak Akademi are invited to engage with students, offering them the opportunity to learn from experts in various forms of performing arts. These interactive sessions aim not only to deepen students’ understanding of Indian culture but also to inspire them to explore and appreciate the country’s rich heritage.
Renowned danseuse from Shillong Monica Chanda will conduct a workshop and organise Meera Bai’s bhajans performance on October 3-4.
