KAM wants to defeat money power with ideas

Shillong, Aug 31: KAM on Wednesday announced the candidature of Wanpynhun Kharsyntiew to contest from East Shillong, while assuring to defeat money power with ideas and action aimed at reclaiming  the rights of the people of the state.


Earlier, the party had announced that Angela Rangad and Kyrsoibor Pyrtuh will contest from South Shillong and North Shillong respectively.

Briefing reporters on Wednesday, KAM leaders Angela Rangad, Kyrsoibor Pyrtuh and Kharsyntiew reiterated that the use of money power will be tackled by ideas and action.

Angela said the culture of one competing another with money should change as the people need is not money but good governance.

Pyrtuh said if elected, the party MLAs will ensure that the people do not suffer due to the absence of basic needs.

KAM had earlier said the party aims to challenge the sense of hopeless cynicism present in the current political climate in the state that has sidelined the values of participatory democracy, accountability and honesty.
