Shillong, April 5: The court-appointed committee headed by Justice (retd) BP Katakey has asked the state police to identify areas which will be manned by the CISF to check illegal mining of coal and transportation.
Katakey held a meeting with the government officials on Tuesday to discuss the matter among others.

Katakey said though the CISF is yet to respond to the order of the court to deploy 10 companies, the matter is being pursued by him.
The meeting also discussed about the auction of already extracted coal prior to the NGT ban and it’s legal transportation.
