Shillong, Dec 23: The high court-appointed panel headed by retired justice BP Katakey has sought a report into fresh coal transportation.
Katakey held a review meeting on December 22 regarding the guidelines on auction and transportation of already extracted coal.

Activists Agnes Kharshiing and Amita Sangma had on December 20 filed an FIR with the Jhalupara police station stating that one truck with Assam registration was carrying coal and it was coming from Shallang.
The activists noticed the movement of many trucks while they were returning from Mawkyrwat and on reaching Umdiengpun, 7th mile, Upper Shillong.
