Kongthong is known for the tradition of calling the residents by short tunes.
She had earlier composed a tune for Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he visited Mawphlang.
A tune is a name for the individual, who responds to the song (tune) when it is sung.
Rothell Khongsit, who is popularising Kongthong, explained to the President about the tradition. A team comprising women from the villageĀ displayed it.
The tune is wrongly attributed as whistling thereby Kongthong erroneously getting the tag of whistling village.
