Let people decide on cash seizure in Arunachal: VPP

Shillong, Apr 5: The VPP has left it to the people to decide on the fate of the NPP candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh following the seizure of cash in Arunachal Pradesh from a vehicle following the convoy of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.

VPP spokesperson Dr Batskhem Myrboh told reporters on Friday that the people should judge the issue.

“Let the people connect the dots and judge. I believe people of Meghalaya are so intelligent, they don’t need a wide explanation. We have been producing intelligent people and our state we have so many, so they can connect the dots. As I said, the people of the state are intelligent and 19 of April is the answer that they will give,” he said.

Myrboh added that it is for the Election Commission to investigate the cash seizure.

He said the incident had taken place not in Meghalaya. “That question should be best answered by the person whom that car follows and you better ask from the ECI”, he said.

Myrboh pointed out that it is a fact that money power plays a big role in India. “So, that is our concern, we know we are fighting against Himalaya. We respect the rule of law, let the election commission investigate and come out clean”, the VPP spokesperson said.
