LIC champion in chess tournament organised by PSUs

Shillong, April 24: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) emerged winner in the chess championship organised by All India Public Sector Sports Control Board (AIPSSCB) here on Monday.
57 players from ten teams of member Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) participated in the tournament.

The closing ceremony and prize distribution function was held at Hotel Pinewood.
BDR.Tiwari, Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor was the Chief Guest. Other dignatories were Gian Batra, General Secretary -All India Public Sector Sports Control Board, Rishi Kant Bangwal, Airport Director, Shillong, Ramesh Sachdeva, Consultant, All India Public Sector Sports Control Board and Puranjan Das, Chief General Manager, State Convention Centre, Shillong.

AIPSSCB established in 1987 is the apex body for conducting sports activities among the PSUs.
AIPSSCB organises tournaments in various sports disciplines such as Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Carrom, Chess, Cricket, Football, Golf, Hockey, Kabaddi, Table Tennis and Volleyball at various venues in the country.
