Shillong, Feb 12: Meghalaya Lokayukta has fixed the hearing on the alleged anomalies in the execution of MLA scheme of former Mendipathar legislator Marthon Sangma, on March 10.
Advocate AH Hazarika had in January this year filed a petition before the Meghalaya Lokayukta to probe the alleged misuse of MLA scheme worth crores of rupees.
The lawyer is representing Tengsimbirth Momin, a resident of Gosingpita, North Garo Hills.
An official source said the matter was fixed for March 10 though February 27 is the election date.
This means that case will be taken up only after the elections and the allegations against Marthon, who is contesting from NPP, will linger.
When asked about the delay, the source said the Lokayukta does not take into account the election date hence it was fixed for March 10.
