Lunar eclipse to be visible in totality from Shillong

Shillong, Mar 2: Meghalaya will witness a total lunar eclipse on Tuesday (March 3). While most of the country will only see the end of the event, Meghalaya’s location will allow citizens to witness the end of the stunning totality phase.

Here is what we need to know for the best view in Shillong:
Moonrise (Shillong): 5:23 pm
End of totality: 5:33 pm
Eclipse ends: 6:48 pm

Total viewing duration from moonrise will be 1 hour and 25 minutes.
One has to find a clear spot facing the eastern horizon at sunset to catch the moon emerging from Earth’s shadow with that iconic reddish glow. This will the last total lunar eclipse visible from India until 2028.
