
Shillong, Aug 7: The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress has appealed to every concerned citizen of Meghalaya to stand together in defence of institutions, constitutional values, and future by taking part in peaceful march against FCRA on Monday ( Aug 10) at 11 am.
In a statement issued on Friday, Mahila Congress President Joplyn Scott Shylla said , “We urge all citizens, church leaders, civil society organisations, traditional institutions, students, women, youth, and well-wishers to participate in the peaceful march against the proposed FCRA Amendment Bill, 2026”.

Later, addressing media persons at the Congress Bhavan here, MPCC general secretary Manuel Badwar and president of Laitumkhrah Block Congress Commitee Eugene Jarain said as the NPP is having alliance with the BJP, the NPP leadership is not agressive in opposing the amendment.
