Shillong, Dec 10: The advance Christmas celebration of the malayali community in Shillong was held on Saturday at the Shillong Club Premises.
Chief Guest Dr Shakil Ahmed appreciated the community for making a mark wherever they went.
CO Koshy, past principal of Army School and a senior member of the community delivered the Christmas message where he urged the audience to follow the message of Christmas of love, peace, sharing and forgiveness.
Naba Bhattacharjee, the president of CPC also spoke.
The North East Development Foundation led by Thomas Baby distributed education support to 10 students totalling Rs 1,00,000 to the economiclly weak students of the local population.
Two families- P Balachandran’s spouse Komalavaly O and DSP A P Janardhanan’s spouse Indira V were also given farewell.
The meeting was chaired by the president Pradeep Pillai, the secretary Aquarius Mathew, treasurer Anoop K.
