Man stabbed in Khyndailad

Shillong, March 21: A stabbing incident on Sunday perplexed the police as the victim gave conflicting statements.
According to SP East Khasi Hills, MG Raghavendra Kumar, on March 19 around 6. 30 am information was received from CIvil Hospital regarding the stabbing incident. During the inquiry, it was stated by the victim Zecharia Sohthiang ( 22) that he was stabbed around 3 am at Police Bazar by some miscreants. Later, he was admitted at NEIGRIHMS and his condition is stable.
The sister of the victim filed an FIR on March 20.
The police said the victim had forcefully boarded a private vehicle at Khyndailad on March 18 around 9.45 pm and requested help from the four occupants of the vehicle to take him to Mawprem to recover his scooter as there was an accident.
However, on reaching Mawprem, he revealed to them that he was stabbed and hence requested them to take him to his temporary house at Mawshbuit .He is originally from Umsning.
After reaching Mawshbuit, he was handed over to his relatives.
Police said on March 21, the victim told the investigating officer that he was stabbed by a woman near Hotel Pegasus and he could identify the culprit.
According to the police, the victim also confessed the same to his family .
There was a rumour that the victimmembers was stabbed by someone from Harijan Colony which was rubbished by the police.
