Mango diplomacy of Bangladesh amid Covid
Shillong, June 7: Chief Minster Conrad Sangma thanked Bangladesh for sending mangoes to Meghalaya during Covid.
“Special thanks to Her Excellency, Sheikh Hasina Ji, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh for sending us 300kgs of their best Haribhanga mangoes as a good will gesture to the State of Meghalaya”, Sangma tweeted on Wednesday.
Chief Secretary MS Rao received the mangoes on behalf of the state government.
“Long live Bangladesh-India friendship”, read the note pasted on the packet of mangoes
Earlier, India received 2600 kilos of mangoes from Bangladesh aimed at building up friendship between both the neighbouring countries.
Bangladesh Prime Minister had also sent the special variety of Haribhanga mangoes to the President and the Prime Minister of India and other political leaders.
