Shillong, March 5: A Manipur resident was arrested in Shillong on Thursday for possession of heroin worth nearly 71 grams.
The Anti‑Narcotics Task Force police arrested the drug peddler.

The ANTF Superintendent of Police Vikash Kumar said information received on Wednesday at 10 pm indicated that one drug peddler, Hegin Guite has come to Shillong from Manipur and is staying at Room No. 115 of Rainbow Hotel, Police Bazar, and is suspected to carry contraband with him.
An ANTF team raided the hotel after midnight.
“During search, the ANTF found seven soap‑case boxes containing contraband. The total weight of the contraband was found to be 70.93 grams,” he said.
Guite was handed to Sadar police station along with the seized material.
