Shillong, Feb 5: WGH martial arts association felicitates national winners
Shillong, Feb 5: The West Garo Hills Pencak Silat Martial Arts Association has felicitated winners of the National Championship and North East Championship in December 2021.
The programme, which was supposed to be attended by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, was attended by his Chief Advisor Thomas A Sangma, who is also the MLA from North Tura, and Chairperson of Meghalaya State Council for Climate Change & Sustainable Development FC A Sangma, also MLA from Selsella.
The winners — Karimcheang A Sangma (12), gold medallist Beamsent and Asher — were given mementoes.
The DSO Tura in his speech had implored the challenging youth and expand the endurance of this discipline.
Thomas Sangma promised to support the association in uplifting such discipline to “reform the misguided youth in this generation”.
The programme was chaired by Rakkan M Sangma, advisor of the association.
