MDA has no issue with border MoU: Conrad
Shillong, May 12: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has said the MDA partners have no issue with the MoU on border deal and they have not made any suggestion for review.
After the MDA coordination committee meeting, the chief minister said, “Nobody has said that they wanted to revisit the MoU.”
Sangma told reporters that none of the coalition partners had suggested the need to review the MoU signed between Meghalaya and Assam for resolving the 6 of the 12 areas of difference.
He added that the coalition partners had some concerns about the boundary issue. “We have accordingly given them clarification on the border issue and we have always clarified to them even at an unofficial level also.”
He said the idea of the meeting was to bring legislators and leaders of the coalition partners together to discuss many issues concerning the state.
