Meeting in Delhi discusses Japan-Meghalaya closer cooperation

Shillong, July 1: A meeting to explore closer collaboration in various subjects such as sports, tourism and cultural sectors was discussed at the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi on Monday.
The meeting was attended by John F Kharshiing, co-chairman of the Meghalaya State Planning Board and working president of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, and Kobayashi Takashi, first secretary (PR and Culture) and Hakamata Maho, Third Secretary, Embassy of Japan.
The Japanese officials informed that Japan and India were working closely in many sectors and were “happy to share with Meghalaya further knowledge and collaboration on the promotion of cultural (cherry blossom festival) tourism and sports”. The countries will explore the learning and promotion of the Japanese language to start exchange programs and job opportunities in Japan for the youths of Meghalaya.
