Shillong, Aug 28: Meghalaya defeated UP by 3-0 to win the 63rd edition of Subroto Cup International Football Tournament for Sub-Junior Boys (U-15) on Wednesday at ASC ground, Bengaluru.
The final was played between Nongjri Presbyterian Secondary School and Uttar Pradesh Major Dhyanchand Sports College.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma congratulated the team.

A statement by the defence said that during the tournament, the teams were divided into eight groups and a total of 71 matches were played from league stage to the final among 38 teams across various IAF and Army units in Bengaluru.
Chief Guest of the event Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor AOC-in-C Training Command addressed the players and the organising committee. He congratulated all the participants, complimented officials & the organising committee for successful conduct and for upholding the spirit of sportsmanship.The oldest and most prestigious inter school football tournament of the country kick started on August 19 at Air Force Station Jalahalli.
