Mahila Cong launches signature campaign on Epstein files

Shillong, March 2: The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress on Monday held a signature campaign in the city to express concern over the alleged involvement of certain Indian parliamentarians in the Epstein files.
In a statement, Joplyn Scott Shylla, President, Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress, said that the campaign witnessed active participation from Mahila Congress members, women leaders, and concerned citizens of Meghalaya who came forward to sign in solidarity, demanding transparency and accountability. The revelations surrounding the Epstein files have raised serious questions, and if any Indian parliamentarians are found to be involved, it would be a matter of great shame for the country and a betrayal of public trust.
“The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress strongly believes that those holding constitutional positions must uphold the highest standards of integrity and morality. Public representatives are entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s dignity, and any association with such serious international controversies damages India’s image globally”, Shylla said.
Through the signature campaign, the Mahila Congress has sent a message that the people of Meghalaya stand for justice, truth, and accountability. The organisation has urged the concerned authorities to conduct a fair and transparent investigation and ensure that the truth comes out, Shylla said.
The statement said the campaign reflects the commitment of the Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress to uphold democratic values and protect the honour of the nation.
