Meghalaya’s Forgotten Folklore shines at Italy’s Bologna Book Fair

Shillong, May 8: Two publications from Meghalaya, “The Tunes of Kongthong” and “When a Huro Sings,” were selected for display at the National Book Trust (NBT) Exhibit for the Bologna Book Fair in Italy between April 8-11.

The books resulted from the Forgotten Folklore Project introduced by the Sauramandala Foundation, an organisation working towards creating locally contextual solutions using its Public-Problem-Solving framework called the Centre for Accelerated Development (CFAD).
The annually held Bologna Book Fair is renowned for showcasing the best in children’s literature and illustration from around the world. The selection of “The Tunes of Kongthong” and “When a Huro Sings” for display at the National Book Trust Exhibit underscores the exceptional quality and cultural significance of these works.
