Shillong, April 10: The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) has announced the third edition of the Meghalaya State League (MSL) from May 5.
The league brings together the top clubs from around the state.
Top clubs from all the affiliated associations will be competing for the title of champions.
The league of champions is supported by
Meghalaya government.
The MFA said the MSL combines the champion clubs from all the tournaments run by affiliated associations in a statewide league the likes of which had never been seen before until it took the initiative in 2017-18. . Through the MSL, the MFA said it acted as a facilitator for talent identification. It also gave the affiliated associations an opportunity to gain experience of hosting the state’s top league with matches having been held in East Khasi Hills, Garo Hills, Ri-Bhoi, Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills.
The league will be played across 4 different venues viz, Shillong, Tura, Jowai and Mawkyrwat.
After a gap of 3 years owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Meghalaya Football Association is as excited as the fans, clubs and players for the third edition of the MSL.
