MHRC notice to chief secretary on death of nurse
Shillong, June 7: The Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has asked the state government to provide a report into the death of, Manisha Turnia, the pregnant nurse of Ganesh Das hospital.
The 32-year-old nurse died of Covid on May 30 though she was not on Covid duty, according to the health department.

The health department had also said that the nurse did not apply for leave.
However, the MHRC has asked Chief Secretary MS Rao to submit a detailed report to the commission within 10 days.
The action was following a complaint lodged by Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress president, Joplin Shylla.
