
Shillong, March 3: Two HSPDP MLAs who were part of the non NPP-BJP alliance have submitted a letter of supportĀ to NPP leader Conrad Sangma on Friday evening.
Earlier, HSPDP president KP Pangniang said the two MLAs had attended the meeting of the party and assured to be part of non-NPP group.
“Later , we did not get any information about them”, he said.
After the meeting of the non-NPP group which had claimed the support of 30 MLAs out of 59 ,the leaders of TMC, Mukul Sangma and Charles Pyngrope said the purpose of meeting was to explore an alternative arrangement.
Mukul said to prevent installing a corrupt government, all the like minded parties should come together.
UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh, VPP chief Ardent Basaiawmoit and CLP leader Ronnie Lyngdoh echoed the same.
Chief Minister has already submitted a list of 32 members to the governor with a break up of 26 NPP, 2 BJP, 2, HSPDP and two independents.
He indicated that the swearing in ceremony may take place on March 7.
However, HSPDP president KP Pangniang in a letter addressed to the chief minister said that the party has already withdrawn suport to the new coalition
The letter said the party did not authorise the two MLAs Methodious Dkhar and Shakliar Warjri to extend support to the coalition.
On Friday evening, goons set ablaze an office of Methodious and public anger is brewing against the two MLAs.
