Shillong,March 6: The oath taking ceremony of all the 59 MLAs scheduled to be held on Monday at 10 am was delayed.
An official with the Assembly Secretariat said the time fixed was at 10 am and ‘we are waiting for instructions from the Chief Minister to start the ceremony’.

While one reason cited was traffic snarl, this is unprecedented as the Assembly known for punctuality, discipline and decorum had not witnessed such delay in the past.
The bell rang for the ceremony only at 11 am.
