Mother’s School celebrates Rabindra Jayanti

Shillong, May 21: Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture Mother’s School celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on May 8 with enthusiasm on the eve of Tagore’s birth anniversary.

The  event commenced with cultural programmes by  kids of Mother’s School from 2 to  5 years.

Students participated in a variety of activities, including recitations of his poems, musical performances of Tagore’s compositions based on his works.

The day serves as a reminder of Tagore’s contributions to literature, music, and philosophy, encouraging a deeper appreciation for his universal values of humanity, tolerance, and cultural diversity.

Prizes were also distributed for art competition held on April 22 with theme “nature at its best “as part of creative art drawing and colouring competition. Prizes were given to winners and certificates to every child to motivate and encourage for the upcoming programmes..

The prizes were given away by Rama Krishna Mission Maharaj.

Tagore believed learning should be joyful and close to nature. His education and philosophy emphasised overall development of child.
