MPCC gives more time to suspended MLAs; Ampareen rules out further engagement

Shillong, Mar 4: The MPCC in a meeting held on Friday decided to give more time to the five suspended MLAs to reply to the show-cause notice.

Congress leader PN Syiem told reporters that the issue of further action will be taken up by the committee comprising the state party president and heads of other district Congress committees.

However, Pala said after discussing with state functionaries, the AICC willl take a final call on the matter.

Ampareen Lyngdoh said the suspended MLAs, have decided not to engage any further on the issue.

She declared that all of them have suddenly become five free independent MLAs. “We will do what we think is right for the people of our constituencies and our state,” she said.
