MRF MO-GRIP FMSCI National Supercross Championship concludes

Shillong: MRF MO-GRIP FMSCI National Supercross Championship 2026 Round #1 has concluded.

In a statement, the organisers said that the opening round of the MRF MO-GRIP FMSCI National Supercross Championship 2026 concluded on a high note at Madan Kurkalang, Bhoirymbong, delivering an electrifying showcase of speed, skill, and competition.

As the first round of the championship’s 22nd edition, the Shillong event marked a historic and successful beginning to this year’s national calendar, they said.

Drawing a turnout of over 140 riders from across India, competing in 8 categories, the event lived up to the expectations with intense racing across all classes. Thousands of enthusiastic spectators witnessed a day filled with adrenaline-pumping action, reaffirming the growing popularity of supercross in the region.

The event was hosted by Meghalaya Motorsports Society, in collaboration with GODSPEED Racing – Pune, and led by 7-time National Champion Shyam Kothari.

The event was executed to professional standards, further strengthening Meghalaya’s position as an emerging hub for motorsports in India.

Key Highlights from Round #1:

• SX1 – Foreign Open Class: The premier category delivered high-intensity racing, with top international and national riders battling fiercely for podium positions. The competition set a strong benchmark for the season ahead.

• Expert Categories: Leading factory teams, including Petronas TVS Racing Team and Hero Racing Team, showcased exceptional performance, facing stiff competition from seasoned privateers in closely contested races.

Junior Categories (SX1 & SX2): One of the standout segments of the event, the junior classes featured an impressive pool of young talent aged 10 to 16 years. Their performance highlighted the promising future of Indian supercross racing.

The event also provided a valuable platform for local riders from Meghalaya to compete at national level, gaining exposure and inspiring a new generation of motorsports enthusiasts in the state.

The organisers said the success of Round #1 was made possible through the continued support of MRF Tyres  Limited as the title sponsor, alongside associate sponsors TVS Motor Company, Petronas Sprinta, Sidvin Energy, and IOC Servo. The organisers also extended their  appreciation to  Meghalaya government and Sports and Tourism Departments for their valuable support.

Beyond the competition, the event demonstrated Meghalaya’s capability to host large-scale national sporting events, with strong coordination between organisers, local authorities, and volunteers ensuring smooth execution.
