Shillong, Aug 23: NEC has suspended the rape accused cashier on Thursday.
An official said action was taken 48 hours after the accused was sent to judicial custody on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Monday.
The victim, who was a casual worker in NEC under the cashier identified as Shambhu Sharma, was raped by him in NEC quarters in Motinagar.
After an FIR was lodged, Sharma was arrested by Laitumkhrah police.
A case was registered with sections such as wrongful confinement/assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty/rape by a public servant.
