Shillong, Nov 12: The NEHU Executive Council meeting held on Monday decided to form an inquiry committee either headed by a retired judge or Indian administrative/police service officials to examine the appointment of Registrar and Deputy Registrar.
NEHU Vice Chancellor PS Shukla said on phone on Tuesday that 11 out of 12 members who attended the meeting decided to institute the inquiry committee.
“As today is a holiday, the notification will be issued the next working day”, the VC said.
He also wondered as to why the students are adamant and refuse to come for talks.
To a question, the VC said he was not missing and is near the campus.
“I am near the campus , I am not missing”, he said.
Regarding the vandalism , he said ‘let the inquiry go on’.
