Shillong June 28: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will reconstitute the select committee for examining the KHAD (Khasi Inheritance of Property) Bill, 2021.
Chief Executive Member Pyniaid Sing Syiem tabled the report in this regard on Wednesday and said the council has referred the Bill to the Select Committee, which has after convening several meetings, has not been able to complete and required more time to examine the bill.

“Moreover with the changing circumstances the members of the Select Committee may be re-constituted,” he said.
The re-constituted select committee will be headed by the CEM. The other members are deputy CEM PN Syiem, leader of opposition TW Chyne, Congress MDCs RV Lyngdoh and Charles Marngar.
