Shillong, Oct 27: Congress leader Zenith Sangma said the GHADC delimitation committee did not have a single public hearing, according to Congress leader Zenith Sangma.
Speaking to this reporter, Zenith said that besides not holding the public hearing, the committee comprises members only from the ruling side.
“The committee should not have been one-sided. while constituting, it should have representations from all the political parties”, he added.
According to Zenith, there is a provision for extending the tenure of GHADC, but since the NPP is in power, ‘they are misusing the power’.
The state cabinet recently extended the tenure of GHADC recently for six months.
The delimitation committee to readjust the GHADC constituencies is expected to submit the report this year.
