Shillong, Feb 5: In the absence of specific rules, the district council affairs department has included the list of all eligible voters in the electoral roll to facilitate the GHADC polls.
The draft electoral roll was released on February 4.

A district council official said that since there is no bar for the inclusion of non-tribals in the electoral roll, the department relied on the list of the Election Commission of India.
Some quarters in the Garo Hills had opposed the participation of non-tribals in GHADC polls.
The cabinet will meet shortly to finalise the date of the GHADC polls
