Shillong, Feb 3:The NPP state leadership in Manipur and the central leadership here are tight-lipped about the split of the party in Manipur.
Former NPP president in Manipur, Yumnam Joykumar Singh, is leading the splinter group christened NPP(Tera Lai).

When asked, former Member of Parliament Lorho S. Pfoze, who is the current president of NPP, refused to respond to questions on the split.
“The best person to answer your question is CM Dr Conrad ji”, he replied.
The splinter group claims that NPP was formed originally in Manipur in 1989, and before the Assembly polls in 2013, PA Sangma relaunched the party in Meghalaya.
The Assembly polls are scheduled in Manipur next year, and the new regional party is planning to field many candidates
