
Bengaluru Oct 14: Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), Bengaluru plans bullet trains to connect key cities in the country.
A media delegation from Meghalaya and Tripura visited BEML on Tuesday.
BEML is one of the leading producers of railway coaches in India, including the iconic Vande Bharat trains and metro coaches that support mass transit systems in major cities across the country.
The 14- member delegation interacted with the Chairman and Managing Director of BEML, Shantanu Roy, who appreciated the efforts of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in organising such exchanges that help enhance national awareness and promote India’s technological and industrial capabilities. A token of goodwill from PIB Shillong was presented to mark the occasion.
During the interaction, Gupta and senior officials provided an overview of BEML’s pivotal role in key sectors, including mining & construction and rail & metro. The delegation was briefed on BEML’s strategic contributions toward a self-reliant (Aatmanirbhar) India, with a strong emphasis on indigenous innovation and high levels of indigenization across its diverse product range.
The visitors were then taken on a guided tour of BEML’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, where they witnessed real-time production of metro coaches, Vande Bharat train coaches and heavy engineering equipment. The delegation commended BEML’s commitment to engineering excellence, quality assurance, and world-class manufacturing standards.
The delegation was also briefed on the growing participation of women employees in both technical and managerial roles within the organization. BEML has implemented robust policies to ensure a safe, equitable, and empowering work environment for women, supported by continuous skill development and workplace safety initiatives.
The media representatives expressed appreciation for BEML’s significant role in strengthening India’s defence, rail and infrastructure sectors, while setting benchmarks in innovation, inclusion and workplace excellence.
