One Covid death reported in state

Shillong, April 28: After a gap, one Covid death was reported from West Garo Hills on Friday.

Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh addressed a press conference to announce the case as she urged the residents to take precautionary measures.

Out of the 17 cases, only four cases needed hospitalisation and nobody is in ICU, she said.

The patient in West Garo Hills came to the hospital late resulting in the death, she added.

The health minister wanted the citizens to follow Covid protocols in crowded places.

Currently, Omicron sub varient is prevalent in the state.

Vaccines

Ampareen said as the Centre  is not providing any booster doses, the state government will meet to discuss as to how to procure the medicines.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is scheduled to meet the health minister and the officials on Monday regarding procurement of medicines.
