Shillong, March 19: Police arrested a person for assaulting a female employee of Umroi airport.
The accused has been identified as Kyrshanlang Marngar (21), a resident of
Dongrudwah Nongrah Umroi.
According to a statement by Ri Bhoi SP Vivekanand Singh Rathore, on Wednesday, an assault case was reported outside the airport
The female employee of the airport, Ellana Lyngdoh Mawphalang (27, temporarily residing at Nongrah, Ri-Bhoi district and originally from Madanryting, was assaulted by the accused . During enquiry, it was learnt that she was assaulted around 8.10 am at the approach road of Umroi airport by the accused who hit her with a broken beer bottle and a stone while she was on her way to work. The victim was immediately shifted to CHC, Bhoirymbong thereafter due to her serious injuries she was referred to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong for further medical treatment. The crime weapon has also been recovered from the place of occurrence.
