Shillong, Jan 2: Police arrested a person for torching four two wheelers.
According to police, on December 28 around 2 am, a fire incident occurred on the premises of House No 70 JB. Cantonment, Jhalupara in which four numbers of Scooty bearing registration numbers ML-05-A-2201, ML-05-R-1523, ML-10-A-3806, ML-05-N-7063 which were parked there were gutted. Accordingly, an FIR was lodged by the complainants in which a case vide Lumdiengjri PS Case no. 174 (12) 2023 u/s 435/436/506 IPC was registered and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation, one male person involved in the incident of arson causing damage to the vehicles and nearby shops was identified and arrested.
“After a massive manhunt he was taken into police custody. Investigation is being carried out for an early chargesheet”, the East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said.
