Shillong, March 17: Over 48,490 people were affected for the last four days due to storm,wind and damages due to hailstones in Meghalaya.

According to the official assesment on March 17, since March 13, the houses damaged were 13076 in 745 villages of 60 blocks.

The number of infrastructure damage is 66.

People also lost broom grass plantations.

Dry ration has been provided to the affected families, the government said.

CGI sheets were distributed to around 760 households in 31 villages.

The MeECL is assessing the damage due to snapping of power lines.
