Over Rs 85 crore pending to be paid to suppliers for Covid support

Shillong, March 8 : Over 85.50 crore is pending under the National Health Mission (NHM) to be paid to suppliers for the support  during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was informed by Health Minister James K Sangma during the question hour on Tuesday.
“We have already moved for an SD (supplementary demand) and also along with that certain portion of it is being drawn from the contingency funds and hopefully by April, we will be able to release all these payments as we don’t want to keep any liabilities,” Sangma said.
He said there are no pending bills till date under the Directorate of Health Services (MI).
Sangma informed that Rs 156.96 crore under NHM and Rs 82.75 crore under DHS (MI) were spent during the Covid-19 pandemic during the financial year of 2020-2021 and Rs 302.08 crore under NHM and Rs 113.48 crore under DHS (MI) during 2021-2022.
On the financial support from the Centre, the health minister said Rs 6 crore was under DHS (MI) while under NHM, Rs 15.87 crore was received in 2020-21 and Rs 91.94 crore in 2021-22.

Nongpoh-Umden-Sonapur road

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Public Works Department (Roads) Prestone Tynsong has informed that the preparation of the detailed project report (DPR) for the Nongpoh-Umden-Sonapur road is in the final stage.

Replying to a question  by Congress MLA from Nongpoh Mayral Born Syiem, Tynsong said that the draft DPR has been submitted to the World Bank and approval  is being awaited.

He said the cost of the project is Rs 83.98 crore.

He said the road is already in the priority list of the government and added that once the DPR is approved, the tender process for the 25 km of road will start
