PA Sangma Medical College charges over Rs 24 lakh for MBBS course under state quota

Shillong, Oct 28: The state got 64 seats from the USTM-run PA Sangma International Medical College but the MBBS students will have to pay Rs 4,95,000 each per year and Rs 24,75,000 for the entire course.

When pointed out about the fee structure, Ampareen said, Yes, a fully govt-sponsored seat will cost this much. We have brought this to the attention of the HCM, and will await his guidance on this matter, after due consultation with line departments”.

The government notified the seat allotment  and the fee structure only on Monday (Oct 28) whereas the notice says online application starts from Monday giving only limited time till 5 pm of October 29.

In response,Ampareen said the PA Sangma medical college got late approval and it is going by the National Medical Commission (NMC) schedule
“We have to meet the compulsory commencement date of the 1st year course”, she added.

According to the notification, the Online Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy Round for Meghalaya State NEET UG 2024 counselling for the P.A. Sangma International Medical College & Hospital, Baridua, covering the State Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota, will commence on October 28, 2024, at 4 pm and continue until October 29, 2024 at 5 pm under the Meghalaya State Counselling Authority (MSCA).

A. Seats:

1. Total number of seats – 150

2. NRI Quota – 23

3. State Quota – 64

4. Management Quota – 63

B. Tuition Fees:

(i) State Quota  Rs 4,95,000/- per year (Rs 24,75,000 for entire course)

(ii) Management Quota Rs 18,00,000/- per year ( Rs 90,00,000/- for entire course)

(iii) NRI Quota – USD 2,00,000 for entire course.

(iv) Fee can be deposited through DD/RTGS/NEFT in favour of “P.A. Sangma International Medical College & Hospital”.

C. Eligibility Criteria:
