Shillong,June 3: MPCC president Vincent Pala said on Friday that as the party head in the state, he is plunging into politics here since he has to lead from the front.
Pala is planning to contest from Sutnga-Saipung constituency.
When asked whether Pala will be the face of the party in the run upto the Assembly polls, the AICC leader in-charge Meghalaya, Manish Chatrath said the party has not made any decision in this regard.
The AICC leader was in Shillong to discuss the preparation of the party for the 2023 polls.
The party also organised the state level ‘Nav Sankalp Shivir’
Cong to file chargesheet
The Congress has decided to file a chargesheet against the NPP-led MDA government exposing the shortcomings.
Pala said corruption issues will figure in the chargesheet and it will be released ahead of the polls.
He said the Congress willl have an edge as the ruling government’s decision on gambling and setting up of illegal check gates have affected the government’s image.
The AICC leader said the party will not have any pre-poll alliance ahead of the polls.
“But we will contest in all the 60 seats”, he added.
