Paul Lyngdoh downplays opponent’s entry into BJP

Shillong, June 28: West Shillong legislator has downplayed the entry of his opponent Mohendro Rapsang to the BJP.

“I don’t see anyone as a threat. I had always said I don’t have any political opponents because people should see me and my capacity to perform and judge me accordingly, but not in contrast with somebody else”, Lyngdoh said.

According to Lyngdoh, Meghalaya needs more capable leaders.

“I know my capacity. I have led from the front. I have been able to lead the constituency successfully, which is why the only tenure when I was absent, you know what happened to that tenure”, he added.

Rapsang, who was in the Congress, had defeated Lyngdoh in the 2018 Assembly polls.
