Shillong,May 3:The general council meeting of the PDF on Friday will decide on the merger of PDF with NPP.
Party president Gavin Mylliem said a decision will be arrived at the meeting as he downplayed the resentment in the party over the proposed merger with NPP.
The central executive committee meeting of the party on Tuesday discussed the merger issue.
Though the party leaders did not want to reveal anything, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma declared in Sohiong on Tuesday night that the PDF will merge with the NPP.
PDF vice president James Basaiawmoit, who resigned from the party on Wednesday in protest against the merger move, said he took the decision as he cannot lead the party alone.
“I will decide my future course of action after meeting my supporters”, he said.
He did not attend the central executive committee meeting of the party.on Tuesday as well as a few others.
