People want a change, hence we are here: Mahua Moitra

Shillong, Feb 23: The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) MP Mahua Moitra and the AITC leader in-charge Meghalaya Manas R Bhunia have called for a change of government while offering the party as an alternative to the current regime due to  rampant corruption in Meghalaya.

Addressing a press conference in the presence of state party president  Charles Pyngrope and vice president James Lyngdoh at the party office on Thursday, Moitra denied the allegation of the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi that the AITC is a b-team of the BJP.

According to Moitra, the days of the bi-party system is over in India.

She downplayed the questions of corruption charges against Trinamool and the ‘violent party’ tag.

She also questioned as to how Trinamool can be termed as an outsider which according to her is a propaganda of the opponents.

No CM candidate

Answering a question, Bhunia said the elected MLAs will name the leader and the party is not projecting a single face of the party in the state for the February 27 polls.
