“The meeting was fruitful and there will not be any disturbance to the supply of fuel to Meghalaya”, the minister said.

The Union had cited harassment of Meghalaya police as the reason to plan the protest.

However,  in the meeting attended by the police officials of the district besides the members of the district administration, it was made known that investigation was only on theft of oil and adulteration and that the probe has nothing to do with harassing anyone.

Kennedy Khyriem, the president of the Petroleum Dealers Association of Meghalaya (PDAM) who had lodged FIR against adulteration of oil was also present in the meeting.
